What did you want to be when you were a kid?
I wanted to become a chef!

What truth about yourself would you like people to know?
I am introverted…I swear!

Do you think it is better to say everything or not to know everything?
In my profession, sometime it is better not to know everything …

What is never missing from your fridge?
Milk…always there for a cup of coffee.

What was the last thing that was stolen from you?
My mobile phone, in a public space. Boy, was I upset – I couldn’t even call the police!

How do you get up in the morning?
After I’ve had a good negotiation with the alarm clock. I have threatened to remove its battery on many occasions.

What is your favorite activity during the day?
Tour the hotel and see what is going on everywhere, and finally stop by the pastry and see what’s baking in the oven. Ah, the smell…

What is the best place to make love?
In a suite with a Do Not Disturb sign on.

What is the worst place to make love?
In a standard room without the Do Not Disturb sign on.

What do you like the most about women and what do you despise?
I love their ability to reinvent themselves every day… and their perfume.

What do you like the most about men and what do you despise?
Their constant ability to change and evolve…and the desire to improve their lives. I despise their greed.

To where you will never return?
I’ve been sent to hell a few times and didn’t like it much.

Who is your favorite fictional character?
I love Amélie Poulain!

Which meal can you prepare yourself?
I enjoy cooking every type of food…the more sophisticated and complicated, the better.

If you were organizing a dinner to which you could invite five people from any place and any era, whom would you invite?
Aretha Franklin to my right. We have a lot to talk about…she taught me English to start with. Karen (from “Will and Grace”) on my left. Leonardo da Vinci. Gallileo. My wife; she has the best sense of humor and is a fantastic hostess. And probably Sybil…so I could have several more personalities at the table.

How would you like to die?
In bed, right after a memorable dinner with friends and family.

What would you like to have written on your gravestone?
We can still hear him laughing…

If you had to sacrifice one of your senses (sight, hearing, taste) which one would it be?
Maybe sight…at least you can remember what things looked like.

If you won in a lottery and no longer had to work, what occupation would you pursue?
After I toured the world a few times, I would open the most extravagant gastronomic department store in the universe.

Which of your dreams has come true?
I did meet Aretha Franklin!

What would be the first thing you would warn an extraterrestrial creature?
There is no such thing as a free lunch.
