ISSUE #114

Christoph Greussing (40)
Since April 2005 named chairman of CAC Leasing, Czech Republic

Why did you accept this position?
Heading up a company like CAC Leasing, is a big challenge, as the main focus of my work is on the defence of a leading market position. I see this change also as an expansion of my own horizon.

What do you see as your main challenge?
The continuation of the Czech success story of CAC Leasing. We need to prepare for the future by streamlining processes, by creating added values for our clients and by using the multi-channel approach.

Curriculum Vitae:
1984-87 started as account manager for Creditanstalt, Austria
1991 Graduation from University of Innsbruck
1991-92 Head of marketing department at Cassa Centrale, Bolzano, Italy
1994 Graduation from the Diplomatic Academy, Vienna
1994-97 Country manager for Poland and Hungary in the international division of Creditanstalt, Vienna
1997-2001 Vice-president of Bank Austria Creditanstalt, Romania
2001-2004 Chairman of HVB Bank Serbia and Montenegro
since 09/04 Board member of CAC Leasing, Czech Republic

What do you think should be the main strength of a general manager?
If you want to build a ship, don’t teach people how to build one, tell them about the beauty of the wide blue sea. I think this saying describes the main strength of a GM very well, namely to mobilize and motivate people to go for one goal.

Who is your role model?
In terms of flexibility, communication and a cosmopolitan approach, it is my father. He achieved a lot in his life, making him a happy man. That is what counts.

How would you describe your management style?
I am a very “hands-on” person, trying to move things fast. That requires pragmatism and an “open door” policy, with open and direct communication.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Open, flexible, and friendly..
